Driving Directions
The Northern Entrance into the Lower Wekiva River Preserve State Park is located off of S.R. 44 in Pine Lakes. From S.R. 44, turn south onto Oak Avenue. and west onto Swift Road. Follow Swift Road to the end of the paved road and turn south into the Preserve.
The Southern Entrance into the Preserve is located nine miles west of Sanford on S.R. 46.
Hours of Operation
Florida state parks are open from 8 a.m. until sundown 365 days a year.
Central Florida nature can be found in its purest form at this 17,650- acre preserve which borders more than six miles of the St. Johns River and four miles of the Wekiva River and Blackwater Creek.

Dade Battlefield Historic State ParkBushnell, Florida 33513The 80-acre park protects not only a historic battlefield, but also the natural communities as they existed during the war. Gamble Plantation Historic State ParkEllenton, Florida 34222In 1925, the house and 16 acres were saved by the United Daughters of the Confederacy and donated to the state. Today, the mansion is furnished in the style of a successful mid-19th century plantation. Guided tours of the house are given six times a day, Thursday through Monday and there are picnic tables on the grounds. Read more
