Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park

Located on the Gulf of Mexico in western Pasco County, Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park is a recent addition to Florida’s State Park system. The park consists of approximately 3400 acres; approximately 600 acres are upland and the other 2800 acres are wetland or submerged and includes four miles of pristine coastline.

Hours of Operation
Florida state parks are open from 8 a.m. until sundown 365 days a year.

Driving Directions
The park is located in the Port Richey area of Pasco County. At this time only a start-up kit consisting of a small self-composting restroom, small picnic shelter, information kiosk, and one half mile of nature trail is available to the public from the landward side. It can be reached by turning west off of U.S. Hwy. 19 at Cinema Drive. Cinema Drive dead ends at entrance of start-up kit. The main use area of the park is scheduled to begin construction sometime after the first of the new year. That entrance will be just north of Ridge Road in Port Richey.

Birding
The West Pasco Audubon Society has compiled an extensive list of birds sighted at the park. Some of these include the Southern Bald Eagle, Great Horned Owl, Woodpecker, Herons, Egrets, and Osprey.
