Torreya State Park Trails Torreya offers visitors an experience that is rarely found in the Sunshine State. This lush park is home to varied natural communities from river swamps to high pinelands.

Hillsborough State ParkNature trails allow visitors to wander through hammocks of live oaks, sabal palms and hickories which border the scenic Hillsborough River. The trails are wide, however, caution should be taken when walking the trails due to the erosion and exposed roots which make the surface rough.

Econfina Creek Canoe Trail This trail is an unusually beautiful, swift-flowing creek. High limestone walls and sand bluffs, lush vegetation, and abundant wildlife characterize this remote creek. The upper section is narrow with tight curves and several fastwater chutes. The lower section is spring-fed and slower.

Jonathan Dickinson State Park TrailsThis state park, west of Hobe Sound, is nearly 11,500 acres of pine scrub, pine flatwoods and cypress sloughs. The rare coastal sand pine scrub community which makes up 20 percent of the park is considered a “globally imperiled” biological community. The Loxahatchee River, which runs through the southwest portion of the park, is Florida’s first federally designated Wild and Scenic River. The park offers a variety of trail experiences, appealing to hikers, bikers, equestrians and paddlers.

Nature Coast Trail State Park The trail consists of two primary alignments built along abandoned rail lines that intersect at Wilcox Junction, connecting the communities of Cross City, Trenton, Fanning Springs and Chiefland.

Rinehart Road/Crossings TrailThe Rinehart Road/Crossings Trail is a paved recreational trail in the community of Lake Mary. This local trail has been classified by Seminole County as a Connector Trail in the county’s system of greenways and trails because it will provide a connection between two of the County’s Showcase Trails.

Suncoast TrailOpened in 2001, this non-motorized paved trail was developed as part of the Suncoast Parkway. Paralleling the parkway, the trail begins in northern Hillsborough County and proceeds north through Pasco and Hernando counties, traversing suburban, agricultural and natural areas.

Cross Florida Greenway - Inglis Island TrailsThe Inglis Island Trails are located in the Cross Florida Greenway’s West Region. Inglis Island was developed as part of the construction of the Inglis Lock and Barge Canal during the 1960’s.
